I am calling dealers and I type this in search of a MT....if their ads are to be believed there are 3-4 for sale in the US.

Not the end of the world if I end up buying used.

Thanks for all the feedback. I appreciated the thoughtfulness of the replies.

I called all the dealers with non-PDKs. All sold.

If anyone has any leads please PM me.

Maybe you should talk with this guy^^^
The gent in the video is 100% correct, the Porsche PDK is an automatic transmission......period.
Sure you have the paddles or buttons which can tell the computer you want the transmission either up shifted or down shifted, but the computer is actually shifting the transmission.
A manual transmission means that you the driver engages the clutch, manually push the gear selector to whatever gear you want.
Now for those of us who really enjoy driving their cars, becoming one with the car, enjoying the challenge and needing all the skills necessary (heel toe etc.) to drive the vehicle smoothly while changing up and down the gears, then a manual transmission is a must.
All the manufactures say that the dual clutch transmissions are the very fastest, and that's true, but to get the fastest gear changes you will simply leave the gear selector in "D" and let the computer do all the work.
Now what fun is that???????????????????????????????????????????????
We are now more or less a sedentary population, and I think people in general are just getting lazier by the day....remote controls for everything, garage door openers, drive through restaurants, drive through banks, drive through everything soon.
And that's why there is an epidemic of obesity.....
Driving a manual will burn more calories, especially a Porsche GT3, that clutch is hard as a rock.
Yeah Baby.

Would prefer (I think) a MT. Challenge is that dealers have almost ALL PDKs in graphite grey.

If we can't find a MT GG 50th we may have to be OK with a PDK...any regrets?

thanks...called on that one. Sold.
Dealers are advertising sold cars to generate buyer leads.
'Sorry that one is sold, but we have a PDK or how about.....'

Yup, didn't read the whole thread before posting. Stumbled upon the listing while looking for something else and thought of you. If you think it's bad with 911_50 MTs, you should see all of the misleading listing for GT3s.

I bet.

Adding to this adventure. 2 dealers asking MSRP for cars with over 1000 miles..yes, list price for a used Porsche.

For those also looking. You can absolutely wheel and deal on PDK 50ths.

Not surprised, i suspect PDK's will all be gone within the next couple of weeks too.

Porsche of Motor City had a black one with 1960 LE number a couple of weeks back worth a try.

P.S. I forget where, but I've seen a couple of listings for 911_50s that have been traded back in and are now available as pre-owned (and possibly CPOs, I just don't recall). Sonnen might have been one of them. So, if you don't need new, you may want to do some searches for pre-owned 911_50s.

No.

Yet, I love my old small bumper cars with 901/915 transmissions.

Ahh, I see your response, so you are aware of the used ones. My computer is jamming tonight, so my posts are taking a while to show up.

I know of one dealer who is asking 20K over MSRP for a GT3. Sellers can ask for whatever they like; it doesn't mean buyers are paying it. Hang in there, you'll find one. Even if it means waiting for one to come back.

My 997 was a manual and I switched to the PDK with my 991. I think the PDK is fantastic and would not go back. I don't miss the foot pedal at all. I use the console shift level all the time and find it quite enjoyable.

Check with Garber Automotive in Rochester NY. They always have manuals to choose from. Not sure about a 50th though.

The PDK is perfect for the new cars.

The 901/915 is perfect for the old small bumper cars.
