Default Tree vs Porsche

I have had my new (to me) 2013 C4S for a month now. Got it with 2000 miles on it and I absolutely love it.
Black on black. I have done the wheels and washed it and done spray wax 1-2 times a week. It is a gleaming picture of perfection.
Today I went to dinner and a storm rolled in. I had parked on an "end spot" to reduce the probability of door dings by 50%. When I got out, I found a tree snapped in half and laying on my car.
Fortunately there are no dents, but the black pair shows a zillion minor scratches. I think most are very superficial. Any advice ( I'm sure there's lots out there) as to the best way to deal with this?
Just a coat of wax after a wash? Clay? Compound?

Wow Doc. I feel for you. It's got to hurt. I'm not sure what to tell you other than start with wax and polish by hand and then buff where that doesn't do the trick and then see what needs more aggressive treatment. An expert might be needed at some point. I'm sure others will chime in. Best wishes to you and your baby.

Wax won't cover up the scratches and clay won't remove the scratches, never ever use a compound on a clear coat car unless you REALLY know what you are goig.

Take it to a profrssional detailer have have him gently polish out the scratches. It will look like new.

I was going to say the same^^^: take it to a reputable detailer in your area and have them look at it. They will/should be able to tell you if they can be polished out.

Check some detailing forums for a reputable pro detailer in your area. There are a few out there that don't know what they are doing and can cause more damage...

Let us know how you make out.

Dude at first I thought this was some kind of joke. I am so sorry. Hopefully the warranty covers acts of g*d.

I would contact the property manager.. Show them your pictures and ask them to pay for a professional detail. Split it at least.,.

Thanks for all the support/advice. It was getting kind of dark, so I haven't been able to fully assess the damage. I'm hoping a good waxing will do the trick - most of the scratches seemed to be pretty superficial...I probably can't hurt it that way...and if it doesn't come out I'll probably go to a detail shop in the area. I'll let you all know how it turned out!

PS - I like the Planes Trains and Automobiles reference...made me laugh!

+1 on talking to the property manager. I had my C2 parked in a garage and a water leak caused the insulation on the ceiling on come down on the car. Must have been some chemicals in that stuff because it created some really serious water spots and pitting that I couldn't get out,. I had them pay for a $400 detail job.

Just make sure you document everything, if you have to get any paint work it's going to costs $$$..

Those were some pretty crazy storms. Love your 911 - looks gorgeous! Glad it wasn't worse damage.

Those winds were something else, eh? I just pulled into my garage about ten minutes before all that rolled in. Whew!

I would recommend a detailer. It'll probably just need a good polish. Don't use wax or clay at this point - that won't do anything to fix the scratches.

Both of these, great advice. Be persistant with the property manager. They need to pay for your damages. You have the photos. Get a well written quote from the detailer, and proceed. Will be about $800-$1,000 to properly correct the paint and apply wax/sealant. Should look better than new. Any dings or dents, get a PDR guy involved first, then detailer. Sorry.

I believe it would boil down to an insurance claim, either from the property's homeowners, or the OP's auto insurance.
