I am planning on purchasing a durametric tool primarily to be able to rest the service reminders. Have all the initial issues for the 991 with this device been worked out? Is it truly now just "plug and play"?

 

Do a search. You will see that it cannot clear service reminders on a Porsche, because Porsche's implementation is partially encrypted or otherwise non-standard.

I searched before posting but I am getting conflicting reports. Some people say its work great. Other people say they had to resort to the customer support hellhole to get it to work. There may have been some teething problems when the 991 first hit the streets.

Anyone have any current personal experience with the durametric device with the 991?

 

That's why I haven't bought one... it seems impossible to get a straight answer from their site or from anyone else regarding just what it can and cannot do on a 991 or 981.

The $2K+ Chinese PIWIS clones are somewhat more interesting, but again, it's hard to tell exactly what you're getting.

 

The only allegations of it working are from people who are quoting generic Durametric advertising. It doesn't work.
