As long as claiming it doesn't affect your insurance per I'd claim it, pay the deductible and have the dealer or an authorized Porsche collision center do it and replace it with Porsche glass.

There is no 'replacement' windshields available yet for the 991 (meaning only the OEM part is available and a glass repair shop like Carglass has to buy from a dealership).
Anyway, do not take any risk and get it replaced by the dealership. I am at my 3rd windshield in about a year
and the dealership has always done a great job.

I'm pretty sure the dealership will sub the work out to a specialist using OE ( not OEM) Porsche glass.

Call your insurance company and they will give you a company that they work with. It will be an experienced installer since they don't want any problems either. Then you can ask about the glass or make your OEM request.
I had to replace the windshield on my 13 Cayenne and the guy came with OEM glass, the mirror mount attached, and some clear stuff for the rain sensor.
