Default Smoking package option

All, I did a search on this but way too many threads popped up to go through everything to find my answer. Question, I notice many people opt for the no charge smoking package option and was wondering why? Is it just to get the lighter power outlet? And if you choose to not order it what goes in the place where the ash tray/lighter would be? Hoping it's not just a hole in your console:-)

The alternative is a small coin tray... Circa 50mmx50mm. Some people prefer the neater lines of the smoking package lid plus the extra power socket...

Without the smoking package it's just a coin tray thing that is too small to really do anything useful. I wish I had gotten the option.

It's big enough to keep a small cigarette lighter

I don't have the smoking package and have the little coin tray....perfect for mailbox key. Should have made it into a cup holder instead of those swing out pieces in dash!

Note on page 279 of the owner's manual that you are required to smoke if you have the smoker's package.

Good thing I did not get it (sigh of relief), or would have to start smocking.

It is easier to plug your battery tender into that outlet than the one in the passenger footwell. And you can keep your change in the little container and close the lid. It is full of win.
