the " albino " optional 991 rear lghts might have seemed like a " kool kustom " idea hatched in some snowed-in design studio in Stuttgart, but here in California where all manner of cheaper Asian brands have had a model or two with a variation of these "Altezza " lights as standard , including the millions of soccer mom Lexus RXs cute utes running around ( even a few late SAABs) , it connotes a low dollar image or worse , a ricer from 20 yrs ago or scores of current beat up older cars and trucks driven in poor neighborhoods with stuck -on Maserati " port holes " on the front fenders and clear Pep Boys aftermarket rear lights.

If we are talking about hypothetical improvements, I'd go with an "S" before any (or all) of those things. You can get a C2S with some nice options for the price of this base.

cars are like homes ...never over improve relative to your market , as the one who benefits is the next buyer

I really like this colour on a 911. I'm sure it will find a home in no time

Texas law doesn't really allow for a non-refundable car deposit either. There is local legend about a longtime salesman at my dealer who worked there for years then vanished.
Story goes that he ordered a Macadamia Brown Panamera Turbo for a customer when they first came out, loaded to the gills, and when it came in the buyer took one look and said no thanks. He was let go after the car began to get stale on the showroom floor.
I think in a case like this, it boils down to how well the dealer knows the customer and just how wild and crazy the custom build is. I agree with sportcentury that this is a pretty expensive Carrera, but then I think almost all of my local dealers' lot cars are too high. Mexico Blue is a classic 911 color, someone will come along that loves this car.

Agree with others. The clear lights don't work. Can't you swap them out?

I also don't care for the PDK.

The glass sunroof I could take or leave.

Still, it should sell. Nothing too crazy on it

Agreed. I'd pass... dig the color though, but agree with the others - clear taillights look cheap.

Each to his own. I've seen the car in person and the clear tail lights have a silver look that complements the silver trim around the windows, ala early 911.
Very sharp but it's an automatic.

I know that I am in the minority opinion here, but I don't like the color. I know that it is a historic Porsche color for many, but I don't think it looks good. The glass roof and the tailights add to the problem, also the dark wheels don't help.

I would not pay hard earned money for that car. I do think the original buyer should risk, and lose the deposit if the dealer loses the sale.

This is why almost all cars sitting on dealer lots are black or silver, taking the risk with a unique color is tough.

Yes, the tail lights are easily swapped out. That's a non-issue. The issue is the price for a base. That's going to be an obstacle unless the dealer provides a (very) good discount.

It's easy for everybody to chime in with complimentary comments when they're not cutting checks.

(Edit: removed comment that sounded more mean-spirited than I really intended)

I don't really love the color. I think the Dark Blue Metallic and Sapphire Blue Metallic, while both different, are nicer than Mexico Blue. I also agree with others who have said that the clear tails just don't seem to work on the car. There was a car that Sonnen unloaded recently in Mexico Blue with the Aerokit Cup, and the execution on that car was much better.
