Top of the page in the owners manual on #284 says 7.5 liters (1.98 gallons) for an oil change capacity.

I had an oil change done yesterday (will post my factory fill UOA next week). Brought in 8 quarts of Joe Gibbs DT40 5W40 and came home with about a half quart.

I haven't turned the wipers on more than twice so I will talk to them about that next time, but just be aware, it is on the 2 year list of items to do! I looked back at the one year service and oil change and it was $276 done at 7500 miles. I like my dealer and feel they provide good service at a decent price.
LOL This must be a typical ripoff. The dealer's SA called me to recommend that the wipers be replaced. I told them that's interesting since in the one year I owned my car I never used the wipers. Also, I have only 3K miles on the car since it's not my DD. So I told them to forget about the wiper replacement.

about $60 in my garage.

the 1yr "service" is really an inspection. No fluids (other than motor) belts, filters, hoses are changed. So figure out what youre willing to pay for that.

Lastly, it would help to disclose your location as cost vary widely.
There are no inspections listed in my maintenance booklet after one year. Maintenance and intermediate maintenance services are only performed on the even years of ownership. The only service required during odd numbered years is an oil and filter change.

I have a '13 991S with approximately 3000 miles on it. "oil change" light came on and took it in for service. My 1 yr service total cost was $219.75 including tax. The dealer arranged a brand new (10 miles on odometer) Cayenne as a loaner and took care of the "clutch return line" recall item.
For me, I would choose the dealer to take care of service items, even oil changes. Especially with the advanced technology items in today's cars and the not-so-infrequent campaign items that needs attention.

ZO:

Is there unlimited room above the filter or must the 36 socket be as short as possible? I assume a six-point socket, not a twelve?

Did you break the filter can loose when it was hot? Relatively easy? Tightening torque?

Thanks.

what are you talking about? the filter housing is exposed once the fan housing is removed.
why are you assuming a 6 pt vs 12?

torque is listed on top of the oil filter housing if i recall it is 24Nm

but if you need all this instruction it will be cheaper for you to take it to the dealer.....

i can see a towing truck in your future

Is a DIY "top down" oil change using an extractor pump through the oil fill tube practical on this car?

just finish my break in service (oil change) at 2500 miles, put in 8qt and its still low, add in .5 more and perfect. So some of you with 8.5qt is correct.

All in all, $60 including oil, filter, and washer. Very happy because its 10X easier than my gtr and 1M.

Oh, the best part is you know that you did it properly and not leaving any rag behind in the engine bay and get your baby catch fire like some dealers did to the other 2 owner.

Have never seen the filter housing. But since Zohan has furnished an illustration of a cast-in hex, the 12 point socket I already have is a poor choice, especially on a plastic housing, which it probably is.

A 12 point is fine as its low torque. Use a plastic bag on the head if your worried about scratches
