Of course, this post is for everyone to see, but it is primarily intended for Beebalm. Now first let me say, Beebalm and I have never met and I’m sure we didn’t know each other even existed until we saw each other’s posts on this forum. It seems, however, that we both have a similar love for Porsche cars. She says she’s had four Porsches and I’ve had three 911's…….all of mine red. And, they were all aptly named “Red Barron”…….I, II, & III……….understandably.

My point?........well, have any of you ever met a lady named “Red Barron”? I rather doubt it.

Beebalm calls her 991 “her”………..which to me certainly implies femininity.

My salesguy assured me that the 991S I wanted to buy was indeed of the masculine variety. (It would have been a deal-breaker otherwise.) I am also assured of this because: (1) it’s an “S”; (2) it has a “stick” (but no clutch pedal); (3) it doesn’t sound like a proper lady and (4) it doesn’t smell like a lady (though the full leather did come close to resembling a whole gaggle of Prada purses.)

My suggestion for Beebalm is that she really should consider changing the name of her “baby” to maybe……….”Jean”…..”Kay”…..”Toni”………”Jamie”…….”Morgan”……..”Taylor”…….”Tra cy”……”Jordan”……”Alex”……..”Robin” (pretty good, huh?)…….well, you get the picture.

What, Beebalm??..........you say all 991’s squat to relieve their well-used Mobil 1?

I refer to my car as “my baby”. I think I used “her” once. I did so because cars have been referred to as “her” since forever. My baby has no name, although my husband refers to the car as “her” all the time. Like, “Don’t take the Porsche, leave her here. It’s snowing!”

Are you confusing my user name and the name I put in the plate in the avatar picture with the name of a car? They are not one in the same.

In the avatar picture, the current plate on my car is not appropriate for this vehicle. At first I had it blank. I recently changed it adding in my user name. I’m waiting for the DMV to send new vanity plates and that takes a longggg time.

I chose the user name Beebalm because I garden quite a bit and like Beebalm. This is Beebalm otherwise known as Monarda Didyma aka Crimson Beebalm or Scarlet Beebalm
