Also, if you are asking during your install - would you mind asking if the PSE switch wiring is also there standard for a base 3.4L engine.

Thx.
Sure, I'll ask.

They connect to an electronic solenoid that is controlled by the ECU. It would require other parts and labor by the dealer to retrofit. You could put the S exhaust on without messing with the vacuum lines and the valves would be left open.

Thanks - yes that is how I have it set up now.

Pulled the trigger. $4K for the AWS system installed with the PSE conversion. Quoted at 8 hours, but they believe they can do it in 5. Also getting the TechArt springs installed at the same time!

Actually, I am "very surprised" by this. Why wouldn't I be, since I had already stated that I didn't think it would be there. Obviously, I was wrong.

That original statement was based on the fact and when the dealer installed PSE on my 997.2, they had to run the wire for the PSE. Porsche does not have a history of spending money by putting something on a car when it was not ordered on a car, which is what made me think it would not be there. So my assumption was incorrect and I acknowledged to Chuck that information was good to know for future reference.

Hope you know I was just "messing" with you.

Porsche always tends to pull a surprise on everyone!

2. More. Days. dealing with this "awful" stock S exhaust note ;-) Congrats on the AWE system. You will be pleased I think. I'm glad you are getting the button. Be ready for some serious authority when the button is in "loud". Was just a bit much for me, but I can definitely understand the appeal. In "quiet" it's an awesome sound, and absolutely livable everyday.

I figured you were "messing" with me, but just in case that was a serious question I decided to at least give you my reasons why I didn't think the wiring would be there.

BTW, I've been meaning to ask.... do your close friends call you "one-twenty-two" or "five-fifty-four?"

I originally logged in with Facebook and it used the handle from an old forum. Guess I'm stuck with it.

I just dropped if my 2014 991 C2S to have the upgrade done. While it sounds great in the car - for those outside - it's a pretty raucous note. Insanely loud from outside the car under power.

Full day install - new wiring which lays over existing harness.

My exhaust won't be installed till the 14th, waiting for it to be made. I might as well take off for Vegas so I don't get too bummed!

No you are not. PM one of the moderators (911SLOW or Bob Rouleau) and ask if they will change your ID. They can do that. Just explain the "Facebook log-in issue" and give them a couple of options for your new ID, in case you first choice is already taken.

Maybe give them a a first option of 554122 or.... nah, never mind!
