Default Out for a drive today

One benefit of winterizing. Feels like a brand new car when you first take it out! Yee ha! Haven't driven her since November and today being March 1 I couldn't wait any longer.

Jlanka I know the feeling. I live in Michigan, record snow and cold here this winter. I had my 996TT in the garage since November like you and recently pulled the trigger, sold the 996TT and bought a 2012 991 cab. Looking at the car(991) sitting in my garage was driving me crazy. Finally last weekend I had to take it out for a drive....it was awesome and to me it was a brand new car! I'm more worried about the potholes on the roads than the winter. Anyhow, back to the garage to complete it's hibernation for a while.

Exactly. (I'm Jeff too BTW). I was dodging potholes luckily I didn't encounter anything really big.

You guys suck! To much sand and crap on the roads here.

I am north of NYC, and I have had the car out a couple times this winter. One big pothole hit (thank goodness I have 19" wheels and thus a bit more rubber to absorb pothole impacts), and lots of salt on the car. No way I could hibernate the car all winter...it is too fun to drive. I did have to spend 2 hours digging out the snow/ice buildup in front of my garage, but that effort was well rewarded once I was able to drive it.

Just wish I could wash it to get that salt off....

I took mine out last Saturday for the first time this year. The roads are just awful. Potholes everywhere. I may take her out again today because with a foot of snow headed our way on Sunday/Monday, it could be weeks before we get a good soaking rain to wash the salt off the roads. I don't want to wait until April to enjoy her.

Another Jeff joining in. I took mine out for a drive this morning too. Drove an hour and a half round trip - just couldn't find a bagel store closer

Can't wait for spring!

Glad you took it out and enjoyed it. Too many potholes and salt in Toronto for me to pull the trigger. Car looks great except for 1 thing.....I can't get around the license plates that are off center. I wasn't happy drilling my front bumper either but off-to-the-side just looks so unbalanced.

I drove mine two days ago, first time since early January when we had a break in the weather and a little rain to wash the streets a little. Once I get onto the main roads, much of the sand is gone, but I crawl out of my neighborhood, you'd think you're driving on the beach, there's so much sand.
Avoided all the potholes successfully, but I did drive through a freshly filled pothole and all the gravel that was left on the road, argh. I still can't get over how loud it is when sand and gravel is driven over in this car, makes me cringe every time and I always have to look over the car when it gets back in the garage.

Getting more snow here tomorrow, so she'll be grounded a bit longer. Got the car in November and still under 500 miles on her. Summer can't come fast enough!!

couldn't wait either, took it out 3 days ago. Got it to 7200 rpm with my PSE and it felt soooo good after 3 months of hibernation.

I did scout out my road with my SUV before I took the 911 out, was able to make sure I did not hit any potholes on the way.

I can actually fold that plate beneath the car, the mount slides out and under.

I've been driving my car for most of the winter (got a set of OEM Carerra S rims with PA4s for my winter set) but a few weeks ago, with all of the snow and the ridiculous potholes, I cried "uncle" and got myself a Wrangler Unlimited. Driving around here is like playing a video game, zigging and zagging to avoid the crazy potholes. I just hope they repave the roads so that we don't have to be so neurotic while driving the car.
