Anybody have experience or a referral for an aftermarket company that offers wheel/tire hazard coverage. The roads in Michigan are terrible and full of potholes. It's only going to get worse as the snow starts to melt (whenever that may be). I would hate to replace those 20" classic's due to a pothole . What is approximate cost and name of companies, or do I need to go through my P dealer? Anyone have any claims experience?

I've gotten tire coverage through Discount Tire (http://www.americastire.com/) when purchasing new tires, but it didn't cover wheels (I don't think so, anyway). I suppose it was worth it, but I never had any tire problems.

Classictrac All-In-One purchased from the dealer for $1295.00. Used once after a pothole, new tire and wheel. Easy.

I've got ClassicTrac too. As kosmo said, the range of prices is huge. I paid about $900 for 3 years of coverage, if I recall correctly (I've got a 27 month lease).

You can buy this cheaper from a Toyota or Honda dealer. It is the same coverage and much cheaper. I had this coverage I purchased from my Porsche dealer for $795. The dealer used to just swap out the bad tire but the insurance started making requirements of photos and in some case send an inspector out before approving. The issue is most people want the car so they can continue their day. The process delays getting a new tire up to two days. I will not be buying this coverage anymore as it isnt worth the hassle IMHO.
