Bid dealer 10k off new car with msrp of 130. Been there in the northeast for 3 months on floor. They counter with 7k off. Am I an unreasonable purchaser.
It is just that these cars drop like stones the first couple of years including sales tax. I figure it is their profit margin vs. my capital.

Out of curiosity, may I inquire into which vehicle you are upgrading or downgrading to? A newer 911? 4s? Turbo? Caymen/Boxter? Or something entirely different?

Well you can bid whatever but at 10k off they are not interested- a Penske store. Originally bid 10% off but was turned down. They do not give much- have a 12 tts and we are 4k apart and that has been there since 11/28 and they have four tt cars.

Dealership is holding for spring's higher prices. These will sell.

If its a Penske store the most you can expect is 8% give or take, as I understand it Penske wholesales/auctions inventory they can't shift to the public in the margin ranges thy operate within. Downside of working with a national corporate driven chain, I guess their finance dept have strict policies that they enforce across dealerships.
Best I did trying to get a 2013 C4S "pre owned" with 60 miles was 8.25% this was in January of 14

Those sound like some serious discounts. Just my informal sense reading various posts, most buyers are getting 4%-6% on cars that are ordered and 7-8% for inventory sitting in the showroom - especially in severe winter climates. So -10% sounds unreachable but hey,....

Not really its a leftover 2013 C4S that stickers for 141k I offered 120k and the negotiation went from there, the best they were willing to do was 8.25% on a year old car and its probably why it's still for sale. Check the number of high option 2013s at Fairfield Porsche CT that will most likely wind up at auction be ause the Sales Manager can't go above 8.25% discount even on 1 year old demos

Good luck! I did what I could with John Resnick the Sales Manager but don't expect anything in the way of a meaningful discount. I custom ordered my 14 C4S through Paul Miller and got 6.5% all in. Based on some searching I did Porsche of Nashua has good deals and is very reasonably priced on 2013s and assume that they would offer discounts of 5-7% on MY 14s.
When it comes to Porsche of Fairfield I don't believe that the folks are empowered to offer any sizable discounts, go direct to Resnick and see what he is willing to do, all he can do is say no, but he is responsive to e-mail and phone calls so you will get a quick response
