I'm in the San Francisco Bay Area and have two wheels with superficial curb rash (I think my fault, but maybe just pothole scrapes courtesy our superb roads) so I'm looking for a sensible cosmetic refinishing without great expense (given it will happen again, and the damage is superficial scrapes.) I was quoted $100 per wheel, but that implies a "we'll take your money" quote and an excessive job that paints the wheel, where I just want to retouch the area that shows the scratches and not touch the whole wheel.
Has anyone found a good wheel shop that does great touch-up curb rash wheel repair?

That's a very fair price for a quality job.

Well, I think $100 starts to add up over the course of a year if it's a recurring problem and the wheels end up four different shades and finishes. I think the $100 is the kind of used car lot repair they do -- deflate the tire and push it back from them the rim, mask the spokes and tire, grind and epoxy, polish, paint a color match sample, clear coat, tidy up the fish eyes a bit, bingo. Looks marginal. I had this done on an SUV last year and it was just barely okay for that car to have one wheel a shade lighter than the other wheel on that side and I don't want a "train on Monday, work on Tuesday" employee with a Dremel having a go at the wheels on a 911 ... : )

Ever consider plasti-dipping your wheels? I know it is primarily a way to change color / look of the wheel, but based on your comments about this being something that may be recurring several times a year potentially you may want to use the plasti-dip paint (you can do it yourself easily) and then repair that, rather than repairing the wheel when scuffed. Sun Coast offers a kit, but you can find it all over the web and cans of the stuff are sold in automotive stores.....
Anyways, here is a link to the Sun Coast store item: Wheel Paint Kit
I've used the plasti-dip on changing color of badging on my C4S, but haven't done the wheels yet.....

Can't help as I'm in Houston, but I've got a great service here (that happens to be owned by a cycling buddy of mine) that does mobile wheel repair. I've never watched the whole process, but they've come to my office (only on other cars, no damage so far on my 991), grind/sand the curbage away, then touch up the painted surface, they do not remove the wheel from the car. I've never had one mismatched, the have all looked brand new afterwards. His charges start around $65 but can run up to $100ish, it all depends on how long it takes them, how much damage.
Like many other things such as paintwork, PDR, clearbra, etc., it really depends on the skills of the technician doing the work. YMMV

I live in MD and the Porsche dealership closest to me uses a mobile wheel repair dealer, who does a great job in touching up superficial wheel imperfections. I used them about eight years ago, and I believe the charge was around $50. Check with your dealership, and they may be able to give you a contact in your area.
