I have a custom order in for a 2014 C4S and honestly the waif is killing me, right now I'm driving my sons über Honda CRV and its dull, handles like boat. I do have a 1965 Mustang and a 1966 Mustang but there is no way they are being driven on NJ roads this time of year.
Had some down time today so surfed a number of Porsche Dealerships to see if anyone had a C4S close the spec that I want and I found the one in the link below at Fairfield Porsche
http://fairfield.porschedealer.com/c...info.php?VHR=1
Honestly it has a few things that I do t really need I.e sunroof, sport design package but other than that it is a good fit. I called the dealership and spoke to one of their sales folks and explained the situation and asked him if he would be ok negotiating a deal over the phone.
He gives me the description of the car and highlights some of the options and tells me it's "loaded" with everything but X51package. The car is listed in the per-owned section of the dealers website and has 61 miles on the clock and the sales guy tells me the sticker on the car is 141k.
So I figure 2013, "lightly used" good set of options I should realistically expect to start the pricing msrp less 10% circa 126k with a probability of driving to around a 12-14% total discount. The sales guy comes back with 131k, I remind him he's listing it as used and it is a 2013 MY and the 8% he's offering is not much more than the 6.5% I got off my custom order on a MY 2014.
The guy doesn't miss a beat and tells me that 8% is the best he can do and that there's no more room for negotiation it is a "loaded" car. Honestly not the smartest sales guy on the face of the planet, he could have had the car off the lot tomorrow if he was willing to negotiate but I guess Fairfield Porsche is doing well enough with all the "Old Money" in CT that they don't need to negotiate.
It's interesting to see some of be smoking deals that some on this forum are getting on MY2013 991s and yet there are dealers that are quite happy to sit on inventory...... Oh well the wait continues have 1/10/14 build date on my car delivery 03/09/14

Wait till March. It's not that much longer to have a perfect build. It's not about the price.

At $141K, that car is missing a bunch of the expensive options like PDK, Burmester, PCCB, and X51. Maybe I'm a performance option biased individual, but that car has way too much fluff and not enough sports car stuff for that price.

If Porsche isn't helping out the dealers, you probably won't get much more than 10% but I would have to think that Porsche is giving their dealers some help to move 2013 models.
By way of example I nearly purchased a new 2011 997S with less than 100 miles in the summer of 2012. The car stickered for about $105K and I offered $86K. I negotiated with the sales manager and he told me that even with the money he got from Porsche, he couldn't accept my offer and countered with $88K. I told him that I would consider his offer, but when I called back a week later, I was told that the car was sold for $90K. So in my case they were willing to reduce the sticker price by 16%, and I would expect that you should be able to get a similar deal on the car that interested you.
A suggestion. If you really would be satisfied with the car, why not send an email to the sales manager and make an offer to buy at a price that you blieve is reasonable. I'll be surprised if he doesn't respond and even if he doesn't accept your offer, he may counter with a price that you feel is acceptable.
If you are idenified as a serious buyer, and you will be if you make a reasonable offer, I expect that you will get substantial price concessions. Good luck.

E-mailing back and forth with the Sales Manager and while he did move the ask to 8.2% or $129,900, not much of a deal on a MY2013 demo with 103 miles on it. Left him with an offer of $120k will see what comes back......

I've been shopping around too and dealers seem to be okay with 10-12% off a 2013. No one I've reached out to will go to 17%. This has been nationwide. I've been searching for a C4S cab so if anyone sees one let me know.

For anyone local to northern Virginia, I just received an email from my local Porsche Club that Tysons Porsche is offering a pretty good end of year discount-type deal. The email was as follows verbatim:
****
I just got an email from Chad Morrison and Brian Kim at Porsche of Tyson's Corner. They have decided to extend a one-time offer to Porsche Potomac members on in-stock cars through year-end, 12/31/2013.
- 7% off on all 911’s
- 7% off on all Boxster’s and Cayman’s
- 6% of on all Panameras (excluding hybrid) and Cayennes
If you are thinking about buying a new P-Car, this could, literally, ave you thousands of dollars. Tell them Boris sent you.
John
****
Chad's a good guy. Dealt with him for about a decade. I don't work for Porsche & get nothing out it. Hey, Chad, come to think of it, give me a t-shirt or something for this! Hope this info helps everyone.

Brian is a good guy. I've been debating whether to get one of their cars but it has the sport techno wheels and I wanted the regular platinum satin finish.

Platinum is a great look, and really hides the brake dust.
