Most of the price hike is Porsche charging different rates in different countries. NZ cars are purchased via Porsche Australia who in turn purchase off Germany. Additional margins and a cornered market.
There are many UK imports coming in here that are new but at a fraction of the cost. This is helping drive down the retail pricing. There is no luxery tax in NZ like there is in Australia so it's not the goverment causing this.
Right now there is a C4s that has 4000 km's on it from the UK for $168NZD ($137USD) and a NZ new version, through a Porsche dealer, would be $220-240K NZD...... until you screw them down on the price.
Getting my radar detector fitted today so I can have some fun on the weekend

Yeah, the big germans, Audi, BMW, MB and Porsche have all treated Australians and Kiwi's like mushrooms for years, the tax is only a part of it
