Default GPS/NAV doesn't speak when on phone- Help!

When I am on a call my GPS doesn't give me instructions. is their a way to fix that. Cant find it anywhere on the manual and its not anywhere i search. I am kinda guessing that its just the way it works? but that is horrible if it is.

Honestly, I challenge you to be on the phone, take instructions from the GPS, AND drive safely. You'll pretty much drive like you were DUI.

One can always tell when following someone who doesn't have their full attention to their driving. Slow, making frequent directional changes and being a lane hog because they are completely unaware of whats going on around them.

This is not a a reflection on your driving or cognitive ability, this is a human trait we all share.

I suspect Porsche intended the phone and GPS to function that way.

I think I recall raising the volume of the navigation by turning the PCM volume **** during an instruction. There is also a setting in Sound>Options for different alerts and sources.

you people are funny. I drive pretty good when listening to the GPS. I drive worst when I'm lost looking for directions etc. Listening is easier. Just like when i have a passenger next to me giving me turn by turn. Sorry, not everyone is built the same, I'm just good at it. So ill have to take that challenge and win.

thanks to everyone else who put the time to give some real feedback. I will try to follow your suggestions

Good question.

I'll see if I can get mine to work with both running tomorrow on a nice quiet area of road with no one around and report back. I haven't tried it yet.

I love this commercial.
