I go every year on my motorcycle. I wait until the leaves are gone. No more leaf peepers clogging the road and the deer go down to lower elevations. From southern MD I ride to Charlottesville and spend the night. I get up, have a fabulous breakfast and ride up to skyline drive. I have ridden for 20 miles and not seen another car in either direction. Plus, the restaurant along the way has real, honest to god buckwheat pancakes, my favorite lunch each year.....Chris

Skyline drive is fun until you realize the speed limit is too low and there are too many people in front of you :-).

Ah but was not there to speed. Track is for that. It was an awesome drive and pretty empty that morning.
