Default The subjectivity of car prices

I followed this auction on ebay

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=221295978922

for a 2013 991s loaded, PDCC, Sport Exhaust, Sport Chrono, beautiful car, a car that should have gone to the 90k.

The highest bid was 75k, reserve nt met!!!! Scary!!!

Don't use evil-bay as a price guide. It is too complicated to decypher the real from the shill, to the fisherman, to the seller bidding up other cars like the one he is selling, to the pain-in the-**** question-asking but non-buying speculator, to the guy who has no intension of selling but wants everyone to see his beautiful overpriced POS .............................
Oh nevermind.

Loaded?? Loaded is when the optionlist doesn't fit on one page

I agree with merlinsgarage. This has no value as a priceguide.

An item is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it at any given time.

Apparently there wasn't too much demand for a Red, 7MT, C4S on Oct 16, 2013 08:50:22 PDT

If this car sold for $75k, I'd be a lot more worried...

Ebay is a more accurate measuring stick when it comes to items that were actually sold.

No worries even if it does sell. Autos advertised as "beautiful, perfect, no storied, clean CarFux" cars are sometimes not............Now if you were looking to buy, the example you have listed may be an opportunity to negotiate since interest is obviously low at this time. Just have to be diligent on finding the true history.

....What everyone else said.

Hey, don't worry either.

I just looked on Porsche North Houston's web site and they are asking $114,991 for that car.

Default Ebay's just another listing opportunity...

I have sold many cars on Ebay. I use the listing just to get the word out that the car is for sale. Usually, a perspective buyer will contact me and we will negotiate a price and make the deal and then I cancel the listing. This also allows me to sell the car without having to pay a commission to Ebay for the sale.

Yep, that is exactly how to use ebay motors to your advantage. Where else can you precisely target your customer for 20 days for under a hundred bucks.

That's how you are supposed to use it anyway. Ebaymotors is the only section of eBay where the sales are non-binding.

Agreed. And I would add that eBay has given cars I sold a lot more visibility than other websites (cars.com, autotrader.com, craigslist etc.)
