I had a great weekend. I volunteered to work the grid at the track in Daytona on Friday. Then on Saturday went to Brumos in Jacksonville to meet up with about 50 P cars from the Florida Crown Region. We caravanned down to Daytona then did the track touring laps. We had to stay off the high banks and follow a pace car. Seems like everyone just kind of drops back from the car in front of them and then makes some good runs at the corners. It was a blast. Then worked the grid on Saturday afternoon. Saw some nice GT3 RS cars.

Yes, a lot of fun and the rain generally cooperated. I detailed the car before heading to track and by the time I got there, let us say I was not proud.

I got a few drops on the way down. Things could be a lot worse. A good friend was running his ZO6 and blew the engine between NASCAR 1 and 2 at 140 mph. He was OK but it shut the track down for about 1/2 hour. Not to get him down he went back home to Port Orange and brought back his ZR1. Went thru inspection and was back out on the track for the afternoon session.

Very nice. I guess I am spoiled in in Ormond and having track less than 1/2 from my office.
