Does this include a 991 C2 with no PSE? Does a C2 with the regular exhaust still have a sound symposer activated with Sport ? I dont have Sports Chrono.

Yes

Why do you have pse?

I find PSE sounds are sweet all the time. The intake sounds from the symposer on the other hand are great going up the scale, but at constant speed, especially in higher gears, not so much. It is a pale imitation of the old 911 intake symphony.

Yes, I have PSE and would rather hear the exhaust than the moaning sound from the intake/engine.

It's located under the rear deck. If I remember correctly the deck just comes out with a pull. You will then see a strip of insulation lengthwise under the deck. Pull the insulation out and you will see a small round opening. That's the end of the symposer. I stuffed some insulation into the tube and added some more under the stock insulation under the deck.

Just press the "exhaust" button and not the "sport" button. This will activate the PSE only and not the sound symposer

I also have PDK and like how the Sport setting changes the character of the shifts.

Speaking of which, for those who want more engine sound, is there a way to get more sound into the cabin somehow from the symposer ? (Removing any insulation) ?

Yes! Pull off the cover thing (the part touching the bottom of the rear glass) and remove the insulation. Heck you can even leave the cover off too. It makes a HUGE difference.

Interesting! Have you done this in your car?

Is this cover easily removable without damaging anything?

Here is a link on youtube of the inside look of a 991 which briefly describes the actual sound symposer

Yes, the cover just pulls up and off with a yank once you get your fingers behind one side of it. Nothing to mess up and it will just snap back into place.

Thx for the tip. Did it yesterday but instead of removing the insulation, I pushed the insulation away from the sound symposer opening to let more sound into the car. Sounds great with sport depressed! Super thanks!

cant say anything about the sym but it seems the poser applies

Thanks! Will have to wait till I get my car to have a look ( it's going into production this Friday!)

Is the symposer visible without lifting the rear shelf cover?

you will have to remove the cover. just pull it towards yourself with 2 hands while you are facing the back window. it pops out easily (i think there are 7 clips in total). you will see insulation once the cover has been removed. Pullout the insulation. slightly right of centre on the bottom, you will feel a hole which is it (hard to see because the glass is in the way) .

I wonder if the symposer can be turned on all the time, for instance reprogrammed to stay open. I don't want to remove insulation as I would think the interior might get hotter from the engine compartment, and I'm in South Florida.
