Default DMV

Going in for my road test today (yet another joy of being a recent US resident...). I hope the DMV person likes 911s

Wish me luck!

If you demonstrate proper apexing and trail braking techniques, you should be fine.

That's what I thought. Plus there are no "max acceleration" limits, right? Only max speed.

I know you are joking about max acceleration, but in some places it is a ticketable offense "Exhibition of Speed" or something like that. Best not to use launch control during driving test.

Was just kidding. No launch controls were used during the test. Gave me a chance to actually try driving it in automatic mode, and without pushing the sport button. Had not done that before...

Anyway, passed, done deal.

congrats! My wife is from overseas and recently earned her driver's license as well. That's a great feeling. However, now, our VW Golf TDI really is hers. I only have the 991 to drive, hehe. no complaints though lol. I bet the DMV person loved it

No you don't need to be a US resident - but you do need to have a valid visa.

The license will then be issued for the duration of the visa (and not a day longer).

If I got a ticket for exhibition of speed I would have the ticket printed on a t-shirt and wear it proudly....
