Default My new 991 C2S "Sabine".

Hi guys (and Suzy, of course ),
Herewith my finally arrived C2S. Dark blue, two tone black over platinum full leather, 7 speed manual. (Sabine after Sabine Schmitz, the Queen of the Nurburgring ). I haven't had much chance to drive her yet because I wanted to do a sealant and then wax first, but a couple of impressions: clutch has a long travel and is heavy and the gear indicator with that tight gate is a blessing. I already wish that I had clued-in to that black dials thing, medium grey for the tach seems a bit strange. On the highway other cars move out of the way in the passing lane like there's a shark coming up behind them Anyway, she's a beaut and I keep going out to the garage to look...

Very nice. Looks black to me with that light... Which of course I'm biased toward.

Yes, it does in that photo. I will post more photos when I've figured out how to throttle my 36mp files down to a small enough size. Nice photo of Sabine. How could one resist that smile? Thank you for posting it

Yes, now THAT looks like blue. Did you order that license number or was it a coincidence?

I am very happy with the colour, it is definitely not a pure navy blue, more of a deep cyan or turquoise.
The dealer contacted the insurance company and asked them to set 991 aside for me.

Very nice car!! Congrats and I'm oretty sure you're gonna have a lot of fun with Sabine

BTW... Sabine Schmidt is in person a very nice lady. That smile isn't fake . I've been fortunate enough, to get driving training from her at the Ring. (Driving school from RSRNurburg, they also rent racing cars and fast road cars). Also did a lap with her in a Ringtaxi, which was a BMW M5 at that moment. Great fun!

Hi Suzy,
Thank you
Lucky you, meeting Sabine. I don't doubt that the smile is genuine. I have enjoyed all of the programs and videos that I have seen her in and she seems like a really nice lady, as well as a superb driver.
(my only immediate regret is that your post on the black dial faces came after my order was finalized...the grey tach is hard to read...not impossible, just more difficult. This is a styling exercise that goes against typical Porsche thoroughness)
Cheers.

Yes I agree with you on that grey dial. Have it in my Boxster.... One of the few things I don't really like on the car, but you'll get used to it. There's enough to compromise it

Hi, yes, it is dark blue metallic. It is a very complex colour, vaying between dark blue, dark cyan, dark turquoise or indigo. There is quite a lot of metalflake in it.
