I had no intention of getting a convertible until I drove one. With the top up no one I have driven with can tell it is a convertible and with the top down the car is so aero there is less wind and wind noise then any other car I have ever been in. You could easily have a conversation on the highway at 80 mph with the wind screen and windows up. I think your wife would have no trouble in the same set up and might fuss a little at highways speeds if the windows were down.

I do agree about the hump and don't think the car is quite as edgy looking as the hard top but for me the trade offs were worth it. There are a lot of twisty mountain roads around here and to drive them in sport plus mode with the top down is a multi sensory experience everyone should be able to experience. I don't come home until the front 3 G meters read over 1.1.

You guys have been a lot of help, and none at all!! Thanks for all the replies, but I still haven't made up my mind. I'll get quotes on both the coupe and cab and go from there. I've never had a convertible.

There are hard panels on the inside of the convertible top. It feels like a hardtop on the inside. It is a very well done drop top.

There is also an automatic windscreen that helps with wind a bit, but I leave it down most of the time. There should be some wind in a convertible, IMO.

I am not a convertible fan in general, however the 911's (991's) that the dealership has let me borrow on occasion have been convertibles. Driving around with the top up, you wouldn't really know it was a convertible. The visibility out the rear window, however, is limited and really makes you want a backup camera.

Yep, a little wind can be a good thing. If we're going somewhere and she's worried about her hair, I can leave the top up. It looks like it will be the Cabrio. The wife says it's cuter.

Test drove a Cabrio today. I was impressed with the noise (lack of) driving on the freeway with the top down. Very little wind. I think i have my mind made up. C4S Cabrio, basalt black, black leather, manual, and a few goodies.
