Default Melting rear windshield seal

Has anyone run into this issue of where the rear windshield seal seems to liquefy and turn into black gunk? I was trying to clean between the glass and body since it accumulates a lot of dust and dirt. I took a folded up paper towel between the crease and it lifted a lot of tar like substance. Upon further observation both the side seals looked all shiny, very glossy in appearance.

With all the tar like substance smearing against the painted surface and seal, I went after it again with another paper towel. All it did was disintegrate the rubber seal. The part of the seal that lines up to the painted body panel looks all chewed up now. The rubber looks all gummy in appearance.

Has anyone dealt with this issue? I'm thinking maybe the heat generated by the rear of the car could have possibly melted or broke down the rubber. I'm just wondering if I could possibly order the rubber trim and DIY.

FYI, car has little over 3300 miles. Always garaged as it's a weekend car. So excessive sun exposure wouldn't be the problem.

Mine looks fine. Almost 5,000 miles, 5 months old. Parked outside in the sun during work about 2 days a week.

Shyong, don't DIY. Take to dealership. You're under warranty.

I'll try to snap up some pictures when I get the opportunity. It's just rather odd the seal ended up all soft and greasy.

This won't be the first visit to the service department. Last month I had to take it in for about 5 days because the brake reservoir kept draining down all the brake fluid. Apparently the clutch line was leaking and needed a replacement.

Just hate taking the car to the dealership if I don't have to. I guess I'll set it up the same time when I take it in for the first oil change and see what their diagnosis says regarding the rubber seal.
