Default 911-50. Who is getting the 7 speed

Just curious as to how many 911-50 buyers are opting for the 7 speed manual vs. PDK? I hope I have set up the poll cottectly. This is my first attempt!

With Ferrari, BMW, and now Porsche selling mostly floppy paddle cars theses days, a manual will retain its value much better in the future. Look at the current sales prices of used F355, F360 and M cars with F1 verses SMG verses manuals.

I had meant to write "Who is getting the 7 speed manual" as the title. I guess, I cannot change that now.

Good poll question. I have gone back and forth and remain unsure.
I think that the MT will be more unique in the future and should retain more value but the PDK offers more performance and bang for the buck (IMHO).
Also, keep in mind that this forum has a bias for MT (not a bad thing) and is not always reflective of what is actually being purchased at the dealers.

I really tried to like the PDK, did 1000kms+ in different 991s - but still the MT is what I am looking for in a sports car. Might be biased from my other early 911s longhoods though...

Depends on geographical location too ! Not too many takers on a MT in a modern sportscar over here in Europe !
But the 50th is about the classic touches though, so maybe a MT is more in tune with that ?

I want a manual but alas wifey won't let me drop this much coin on a stick

I figure 911-50 with PDK s better than none at all!

I find it hard to believe that there are 24 buyers of the 911_50 on this forum but that's how many voted in this poll.

For my 991 3.4 the MT advantage is clear....you can skip gears! With seven to choose from a wealth of options arise when pushing the stick in real life traffic situations. A PDK 991 is boringly saddled with the same routine pattern, over and over again.

Have you actually driven a PDK?

No he hasn't. And if he has, not properly. You can skip to your hearts content with PDK.

I am going with PDK partly because I live in the city but also for the performance. I skip down gears on the track but some of the fastest guys I know hit each gear on the way down. I have driven a pdk really hard in the Austrian Alps and didn't miss the MT for one moment. The MT may be more traditional, but I am moving on.

Ordered my 911/50 with PDK. My second 911 to have PDK. My first two 911's were MT. I'll never get a MT again the PDK is better than MT in every way.MT is old technology. Will you get more for a car because it has no ABS? No you won't. You will not get more money down the road for a MT. Just the opposite. Inferior technology. 5 years from now try and sell a MT car. Look at dealer inventories. Most on the lot are MT because few people want MT anymore. Do you think Ferrari no longer makes a MT car for any particular reason? F1 hasn't used MT in 15 years. GT3 is PDK because it is BETTER.

Yes, driven PDK. No you can't skip gears going up the range as you can with a MT. We love our manual and so glad to have the experience it offers.
