Default silver or bronze Carrera S wheels

Just puchased a white on tan 2014 991 from our local dealer. It has the bronze Carrera S wheels and i think I prefer the same wheel in silver. If any of you have a white 991 with this wheel in silver and could post a picture i would much appreciate it. Here is the wheel. Thanks.

wait... the wheels you have are really bronze? or are they the factory platinum option? I didn't know that Porsche offered a bronze finish.

Platinum (factory wheel - grey in tone):

Bronze (aftermarket wheel - gold/brown in tone):

Yes, you are correct. They are the factory platinum wheels, I just think of them as a bronze color. And thanks much for your pictures.

I have a white one too, also with platinum wheels. Personally I prefer this look over the silver wheels. Not enough contrast for my taste with silver wheels on a white car. Also Platinum does a better job of hiding dust and dirt !

Checkout this site for white 991's with various wheel combo's:

No problem. I'm always glad to share photos for visual aid when I have them.

I agree with bccars that the platinum wheels compliment the white exterior well because of the contrast. That's why I chose them for my car.

In your car's case, the tan interior is what's giving me pause. I think that as an overall package the silver might work better with your interior choice, even if it isn't AS attractive when considering the exterior only.

I like the whole car to work well together inside and out.

Thanks guys. Seems as though everyone I have spoken with feels the same about platinum being their favorite. Have owned several Porsches over the years and just seems normal to see a Porsche with silver wheels. But this is a new look and most people I have talked to prefer the platinum. Thanks much for the pictures and the link to the wheel combos. Have to say your comment on the tan interior has made me realize that the troulbe I am having is seeing the darker wheel with the lighter interior and a bit of a disconnect between the two. Thanks again.

I have the espresso interior and am very happy with my platinum wheels, I had spacers put on the car since these two pics which made it look even more aggressive but don't have pics handy on the computer.

+1 on the spacers

I have the oem 5 mm and even these give the car a meaner stance in my opinion (together with Pasm in my case)

SPASM is such a nice touch sitting lower. I have 7mm in front and 18mm in the back (no SPASM). I'll take some pics soon! best money I spent on the car! the 4s is 44mm wider than S and I have another 36mm combined so 80mm wider in the back, very noticeable.
