Default Gasoline smell

Took my 2012 C2 cab out for a nice long drive yesterday, car ran perfectly. Brought it home, put it in the garage, and noticed an odor of gas around the rear of the car when I shut it down. The smell was still in the garage this morning; opening the door for a bit aired it out and it is mostly gone now.

Cannot detect any odor near the fuel filler door, in the engine bay or in the front compartment. No evidence of anything on the garage floor. Gas cap was tight.

I did fill the tank the other day but nothing spilled. The car recently had the safety recall done to replace the mufflers but had been driven a couple of times with no issues.

I know just a small amount of gas can stink up an enclosed space.

Of course, I will call the dealer in the morning and take no chances, but anyone experienced this?

The only time I've ever had this issue was when I drove over a fuel spill at the gas station. The tires smelled like fuel for a couple of days. Did you spill any into the overflow when you were refueling?

No spills ... I am careful about that. Will look at the tires, though. Thanks.

Is it a fuel/gas smell or something like oil?

Definitely fuel ... have been driving 911s for 23 years, I am very familiar with the smell of oil

Not cosmoline, either.

Just an update ... I took the car into the dealer this morning, they were good enough to take it right in and look it over. The tech found nothing amiss, no odor of gas that he could discern and the sniffer did not find anything, either. I will certainly keep an eye on it. Perhaps I did run over some spilled fuel on the road.

Or perhaps our other car is the culprit and may burst into flames at any moment.
