Good question. I thought about that too. But, I suspect these parts have minimal resale value because they have such a low failure rate (who would need them).

Now, if they offered performance gains to the 991 base or 981 owners, then they would represent some nice value. I doubt they would, though.

'For those of you that have tried this motor, don't hold back. Please share with the rest of the world that the Power Kit motor on a manual transmission 7-speed 991 S really is a nice substitute when you can't get a manual GT3 in North America'

Drive the car more today, what a beast now! One last picture with all the "old" parts that have been replaced. Missing (did not exist on the std car) is the extra front radiator that looks much better than the original plastic cover (difficult to capture with a phone camera with a white car). The only concern is my mileage averaging 9 mpg the last 2 days, this baby rev so easily and freely and push very hard, I did not have enough of it, it remembered me the beast inside my previous corvette ZR1...

Great post & info!

Regarding gas mileage....9 mpg is ugly in my book especially when I've become
used to 18-20 in town , 27+ highway.

Cool weather and a heavy foot will do that to gas mileage. Look forward to more on MPG once you calm down! lol

I have the same mileage as you mentioned when normal driving. You saw that I added a smiley face indicating that it was very special circonstances (a lot of static vroom vroom testing the new PSE and short drive full throttle testing all modes).
The X51 should not affect the mileage at equal speed and RPM. I will verify that.

Very good to know - getting stoked now!

What are you going to do with all those parts?

Dealer probably says there's no market.

I did not ask the dealer, I requested that they keep all the old parts for me. For now just stored them and see if I can sell it later. They are almost new the car has only 3200 miles.

I get 16 -17 in town and 28 - 30 on the freeway and I don't baby the car. If I'm in tarffic, I maintain the rpms between 2300 - 3000, otherwise I don't hold back.

Do you notice if it takes longer now ( because of the center 3rd radiator) for the car to come up to full operating temperature?

So awesome. Congrats on the build. And I'm assuming you still kept your warranty?

Well difficult to say, because today was the first day I commute with it and yes it took more time but I do not know if because it was very cold today (for bay area) 30F or because of the third radiator or both. 4 weeks ago the car was faster to heat up but it was 50F and plus outside. Sorry.

Regarding the warranty, yes no issue at all (sold and installed by Porsche) the upgrade is also stored in the Porsche database with the VIN in the service section.

Now that the car is back and running more than great, it's time to get back to talk about the PSE included (option) with the X51. The dash button does not come with the kit! I asked to add it, Porsche told me that the button is not compatible with X51. PSE valves will open in Sport and Sport+ and stay closed in normal. I insisted and the dealer ordered and installed the PSE button. Dealer made me sign a paper that in case of re-flash the button will not operate as they have to program it manually. It looks like that the manual PSE button programming and the X51 download are not working properly, the first day I got the car the valves stayed closed, now they are open all the time independently of any buttons activated or not (PSE button, Sport or Sport+). I am going to the dealer tomorrow and will keep you posted. By the way I love the noise of the PSE...

My question is for 991 owners with X51 installed from factory, do you have an exhaust PSE button on your dash? YES NO. If Yes how does it work? Does the button operates the PSE or just light up when in Sport or Sport+.

I would like to hear also from the 991 owners who upgraded to X51 with PSE.

Thank you all. Chris

I can activate pse with a touch of the button. Iindependent of sport and sport plus with pse deactivated the valves open at 3000 rpms producing the enhanced exhaust tone. Mine was installed at the factory.
