Default 991 Cab S Base Price Issue

I'm in the process of purchasing a new 2013 991 Cab S. The broker I am using found one with my specs that had a base price that read:

991320 911 Carrera S Cabriolet 108,000.00

If I go to the dealer and look at a sticker or build a 2013 online they all say Base Price: 110,800.00

I asked the broker why there was a difference in the base prices and he wasn't sure but said that the car was probably an earlier 2013 build.

I'm not sure I want a car that was built 1 1/2 years ago.

Can anyone give me some clarification on this?

Wasn't there a price increase over all models in January or something? That might be it.

So am I to assume that this car was built prior to the January 2013 price increase?

Would there be any disadvantages to buying the cheaper base price 991 Cab S?

2013's built in late 2012 do not reflect the MSRP price increase on cars built 1/1/13 or later. They are still current 2013 model cars.

Not up to speed on the exact before & after prices on your model, but the dealer
can certainly provide specifics.

No disadvantage unless it's not what you want.....saving some $ is a good thing

It's been sat around for a bit too so check the in-service date of the warranty (sometimes this get tripped earlier so that you dont get the full 4-years). Oh, and the dealer probably wants it gone so negotiate hard!

Isn't there a date on the sticker?

When I was looking at cars in February, dealer had some vehicles the same way you explained. As others have mentioned, there was a price increase somewhere around the beginning of the year. I am kicking myself for not buying then as I ended up buying recently and had to pay the price increase.

Your warranty in-service date will be when you take delivery.

You'll be fine with any 2013 build, no matter what month.
There is a strange fascination with build dates.

Save yourself some money, negotiate an extended warranty, and be happy knowing you got a good deal.

Be well...

Yup, I missed out on ordering in December and had to pay $6000 more for the same spec car (arriving in 2 months)

On a side note, I did a configuration on line today of my car and it seems (ok, in my case it's heavy currency depreciation at work) all of the extras have gone up by about 5% while the base price of the car has remained the same for the 2014 build.

I'd say be happy and take the deal

My car was built on January 18, 2013 and I paid the old price as all cars ordered by December 31 were supposed to be priced at the old price. The actual window sticker and other documentation shows the new, higher price but then there is an adjustment further down the sales order.

I picked up a 991 cab lease on car that had been sitting around awhile, for the lease was great as payment was less.

as others have mentioned. It was due to a price increase in January. As long as the car wasn't placed in service, your warranty start date will be when you purchase it. I bought one in March with the old price. Was glad to save the $2,800

My car had the warranty card "punched" just a week or two prior to negotiating, they explained that they had to do that every month. Got a decent discount on the car I wanted- by the time I picked up the car it had lost only a few weeks worth of warranty.
