Default Optioning a Base 991 for most 'feel'

What would you select on the option list if you were getting a 991 but were interested in the most road 'feel'?

Coming from a spyder and getting into a Carrera, I'd like to retain as much of the involvement as possible. 'Driver's' car.

I know it will have to be 7sp manual and I'll check the sports chrono box. SPASM worth it on a base, considering the requirement to also pay for PTV and 20" wheels (bringing the price very close to 991S)? 20" wheels providing more feel than 19s?

Appreciate the input.

I'd say if you're going for the purest overall driving experience, SPASM would be worth it. You've already checked the sport chrono and 7MT boxes, so that's good. You'll probably also want PSE. It doesn't effect the "feel", but the sound is certainly part of the pure experience (I say this without actually having PSE on my C2S cab; but if I had a coupe, I'd definitely want it).

Get one WITHOUT Power Steering Plus if you want the most driving feel.
It makes the steering very soft at low speeds.

I agree with 7mt with sports chrono and pse. I would get SPASM but not PDCC, or power steering plus. I would also stay away from things that add weight like 18 way seats, burmeister stereo and sunroof.

Thanks for the input. Was thinking along the same lines in avoiding the power steering plus and sunroof.

Not a lot of cars are optioned with SPASM, which I find interesting.

Sports chrono, 7sp, SPASM, sports design steering wheel, smokers package and call it a day? Anything I am missing?

PASM vs SPASM, for budgetary concerns?

RE: PSE - I think it's a great option to add some more emotion to the car. Only worry that it takes me to a base 991S price range.

May temp me enough to add it later, as it sounds quite good on the 3.4L.

Sounds like you really need a GT3.

Most road feel, assuming you are not talking about a GT3, etc.? Try a base 991, with no options. Happy motoring.

Think that's pretty dialed in for your purposes. PASM's a must, but I can't comment on SPASM, since I don't have it. It lowers the car an additional 10mm and results in a firmer ride. Naturally, it's going to be more performance oriented. If it's performance you want, and you're ok with the lower ride height and the added expense, SPASM would be a sportier driving experience.

Yea, perhaps.

In actuality its too fast of a car.

I'd like the benefit of modern handling and feel without getting into crazy amounts of trouble so quickly.

After the Porsche Roadshow and driving a car without SPASM (mine has it) and one with, I would DEFINITELY recommend getting it. I would not get PDCC if you want "feel" though.

I would give up SPASM for budgetary reasons if you are not going to track it. Same with PSE. It is nice, but does not add feel. Just more pretty noise.

Yeah, i second that. And I would also stay away from the power steering plus.

I don't second that and I have PDCC and SPASM.

Using the same reasoning, why would you get PASM if you want a "purist" " feel?"

After owning two base 991, I would go with the "S" option, it just "feels" better.
Oh and stay away from PSP.
