Default Mahogany wood interior....Post pics please!

Deposit paid and configs will be locked soon. Trying to decide whether to get the mahogany wood pkg and console trim.

Exterior will be either anthracite brown (current selection), but also considering dark blue or agate grey.

Leather will be either full beige or two tone black/beige.

I'm sure many of you have been through this agony aka the Porsche configurator. It's eating up my life and my medical license exam is in 10 days

Please post your wood pics (the trim of course) and give me some suggestions on aesthetics. Thanks

Yep. I suppose this is like our USMLE. Good luck with it! Do you go into residency next?

Nice to meet a fellow MD from the south

Yeah I'm starting ophtho rez in a few weeks. What do you practice?

I checked out the link you sent. The leather seemed a bit dark together with the mahogany. I wonder if the beige leather will provide better contrast. The Aetna blue is amazing!

Damn! PGY 1 driving a 991! You will make a lot of staff guys and co-residents jealous.

I have anthracite brown with 2 tone black/ beige, with the metal looking trim. Looks great in my eyes. Love the deviating stitching.

Thumbs down Don't do it!!

No wood in a 911!!! (all respect to rnl, however). You're an optho resident? C'mon, bro--I'm just a skin doc and know that normal eyes shouldn't see wood in a 911 (again, all respect to rnl's choice)!

Maybe just me, but the simpler the sharper. Wood adds another dimension and color to the interior mix. It makes it more complex and starts looking like a cruiser versus a sports car. Just my diagnosis. Certainly get a second opinion.

Oddly enough one of the reasons for the wood installation was the glare reflecting from the metal surface. Metal's gone and so is the glare.
I replaced the console surround metal with leather and kept the leather shifter.

Wood trim with an auto stick - no clutch pedal in a 911 street car! So sad, what's the world coming to?

I just heard that Porsche canceled the new GT3 after your comment was read. They just could not bear the thought of releasing a PDK only beast into the wild knowing you would not approve.

In general, as a urologist, I approve of wood in any application that is desired.....

I'd go carbon fiber though if I were spec'ing a new 911. Best of luck to you though in your training and make sure we see pictures of your 991 when it's delivered!

I wouldn't have had the guts to drive a car like this in residency. I would have taken lots of crap from my fellow residents & attendings and there was nowhere "safe" to park it. A month after it ended though, I bought my 911, hehe.
