Probably next time I should take 14 way seats to have this option in menu. Strange logic.

There are certain situations where Auto Stop won't work; sport button engaged, PSM off, and AC on Max to name a few. But if none of these are the issue, and when you press the Auto Stop button the light doesn't go out to indicate the system is activated, then it sounds like there is a fault.

No preset memory if you don't have this option, so the mirror can't tilt and return.
I've found the battery needs to be fully charged in order for stop/start to work - if the car is not driven daily or only on short trips this function will not work properly.

maybe it's a feature of the 991s with x51? with that type of machine who would want auto stop?

contrary to other owners i prefer the auto stop off, but do it thru the memory key entry function.

Shoot, just drive in Sport Mode all the time and you won't have to worry aobut the Auto Shut off feature...won't operate in Sport Mode!

I am not sure I like the Auto Shut feature. Lining up at a drive through to buy a coffee had my engine stop/start at least 10 times at 4-5 secs intervals. And getting off a highway from higher speed to a stop, I felt the engine shut down so abruptly that I heard "clunk" and my steering wheel got locked down. I wonder if that feature would harm anything in the long run?

Default Cannot store A-S/S to personal settings after a certain year

As a Porsche tech who's been to factory training and asked the question myself to the guys at the top of the knowledge tree, I can tell you that it has been intentionally made impossible (after a certain model year - 16 I think) to store to your personal settings to include an auto-start/stop default setting of 'off'". Blame it on the government 😞

Since you got me thinking...IF I owned a PIWIS and a '17 and on car, could I configure the auto stop/start off?

Wait. Can someone confirm? You have to manually press auto-stop off every time? If so that absolutely sucks.

As soon as you press the sport button (before I even start the engine in my case) it disables that function anyway.

That is how it is on the newer 991's. Glad it stays off when I press the button on mine...

The auto start/stop button will stay in the "off" position in the 991.1. It needs to be turned off every time you start the car in the 991.2.

Have to press a button every single time you get in? The HORROR!

Lol.

Yeah, some of us just like to get in the car and drive, not change a bunch of settings. That's why memory for the seats, HVAC controls, radio is so nice...
