Sorry for big pics.. I have no idea how to make them small
this is the pic my service dept sent to me ...
I took the car to service because of the campaigns and told them , i was driving pretty fast one day and there was a dip in the road -- kinda scary -- and was scared i did something to bottom... this is how a woke up ... to this email
Basically he says, they need to be replaced $4,500 with install
Or I can get fabspeed headers for 3k install?
I want to just keep them as is,,,,
I will go to a other dealer tomorrow and see what they say...
what do you guys think?
If i need to change .... plz let me know reason why?
thanks!

Unless you are tracking the car... Leave them and enjoy the car until you really need to worry about the small Hp loss.
When the time comes we can set you up with some Cargraphic replacements.

I drove a 997.2 GT3 4K miles with similar to worse header damage. There is no way you will be able to feel the slight loss in power. Never had a problem because of the dents........except mentally!!

leave them alone, i got airborne second day i had the car and dented mine up worse than that.. affects nothing and no way you can heat em up and bend em back... they are so hard.. they dont even budge... took mine to a shop and they showed me how they actually "oval'd" out meaning not as much loss as you think by looking at em.
no effect on car at all, if they havent cracked yet, they wont.
the real question is, is your 991 used and white? cause they look damn close to my headers haha

if you look at the bottom of the car versus the 997.2 they protrude way further down, i made a topic of this when the car came out... as i have owned 2 previous 911's and never an issue and then 2nd day a giant issue w/ the 991.

What was the giant issue with your headers?

they just protrude down much more than in 997 models.. so the same driveway that was never a problem became a problem
before the springs, nothing after.. the stock suspension is much softer and bounced more... as i said above.. never had a problem with 997 even lowered 2.5" on KW's, and never had a problem on the 991 once i installed the lowering springs... problem was only there with stock suspension.. just too much "slop" in the suspension.. at any speed i would bottom out on my driveway.
i assume its the wheel base, coupled with headers hanging down further than before and the sloppy springs.. if you park 997 next to 991 and look at the engine, it's very easy to see how they protrude and how the engine itself it closer to the ground.

I ran over a large rock and dented one of my headers, but not as badly as in the picture. I have not noticed any difference in performance before or after, but I was pretty bummed out when I did it. I am just going to leave it until it breaks or I can't resist something shiny and aftermarket.
