918 Spyder-ready for orders?
Now I know I am at the 991 forum but I thought it interesting that just after I ordered my 991 C2s, I got a hard covered book and order info on the 918 Spyder. It showed all the color combinations and different options including the two wraps you can get from Porsche. It appears that if you buy a 918, you get first choice of any limited edition models Porsche is going to offer for the next ten years as long as you remain the 918 owner. Sounds like a sweet deal for only a million bucks( give or take a few grand here or there).

Be sure to get the $60,000 silver paint job. Without it you will look cheap : ). Sounds like how Ferrari operates giving the placements for the Enzo's to those who owned f40s and f50s. Not sure if it is similar with laferrari? Hey if you got the change I am sure the 918 is one hell of a ride. Will likely hold its value well too. Not sure what the value is of rights to buy limited editions going forward but it is intriguing.

Scuttlebutt is the 918 isn't exactly flying off the shelves. Keep in mind that for the last five years or so the only million dollar car was the Veyron and it took them that long to sell 300. Now Porsche, Ferrari, McLaren, and probably some other more limited production companies are all bringing out hypercars at the same time. Can the global market really absorb a couple thousand $$$ cars in the next couple of years?
I believe of the three I have mentioned, the 918 has the highest production numbers planned, I can't wait to see actual performance figures for these dreamcars to roll out. I suspect the only one that will be "hard to get" will be the Ferrari due to their tight marketing control.
