I am trying to find the differences in standard features on the C2S that the C2 cannot have even with optional added items. So far this is my list, please tell me what I am missing. I am only talking about STANDARD items on the C2S:
3.8L engine
Control valve in the intake
Larger front brake discs
Four-pass exhaust system with control valve (not PSE)
No coat hooks for C2S
There are many STANDARD items on the C2S the C2 does not have, but can be added for extra cost. I am curious about things the C2 simply cannot have.
I decided on my base C2 over the S because I needed coat hooks ...
But seriously, the only S items you can't get the factory to add is the motor and a badge with an S on it. Suspension, brakes, exhaust, etc can all be upgraded - but why would you want to?
This is the list I used to examine the differences, and came up with the list above.

The CS has a two-stage intake, the C cannot upgrade to it. Maybe aftermarket but not from the manufacture?
I guess one can always retrofit with larger brakes.
The C also cannot have the CS standard four-pass exhaust. The C comes with a dual-pass exhaust, or one can upgrade to the PSE.
The s front axle is 1538mm while the base is a messily 1532mm. Oh! The horrors! That settles it, I'm leaving my C2 running on the side of the highway with the key on the seat.

If true, it is probably by design due to extra weight. But you are right, nobody seems to care.
Initially I built a C2, but after all the performance options added, the price gap went from nearly $15k down to $6.5k. So the question I had to answer was, is the $6.5k a good value for the difference of the engine and a few minor items as listed above?
For many others when performance options are not necessary, C is definitely better value than CS.
I bought a base primarily because I would only buy manual, and at the time I was looking the only manuals in my town were non-S's. Had there been an S with stick around I would likely have made the stretch in price....but....I do not regret at all my purchase.
The Carrera still exhibits all of the DNA that makes Porsche what it is, and is plenty fast enough for road or track, you just have to work it a bit more. OTOH, optioning up a C2 to C2S prices seems silly to me.
