I was told that you cannot specify the tires on an ordered CS. The factory will put either P-zero's on or Michelin Pilot SS. Lately, it seems all the newly delievered CS cars are coming with the P-zeros. I noticed in the latest tire test results reported in one of the automotive mags, the P zeros were the least desirable while the Michelin PSS were the best. I realized that Porsche has probably made a better deal with Pirelli than they could at Michelin...therefore we all get the P-zeros. I wish they would spend the extra diime in the name of better performance and put the better tire on our new $100K+ cars.

Based on loving them in the past I will get MSS when my P0s are gone. That said- they are wearing well (12K miles- no track) and are damn good in all conditions- way better than I expected.

I think Porsche made some special deal with Pirelli for their product only on the 991 as OEM. And no, for the past many years no matter what you want you get what Porsche wants for you as far as tires are concerned. One of the very few things you can't specify according to 3 different factory tour guides last year.

The PSS are really on another level when you consider wet, or colder conditions. I was really impressed with the PSS, they are quieter, have way more grip and I find them easy to manage in terms of tire temperature.

True...never said the PIrelli's were bad....just that the Michelin PSS' are soooo much better for the reasons referenced above. I have them on my current 2011 M3 (to be replaced in April with a Panny GTS), and man, rain, wet or shine, these things have grip like no ones business!
