Yep, the one in San Diego has them, too. I've seen base C2, Cayenne and Panamera so far. I asked about the base C2 when I was there two weeks ago and one of the guys who work there said that "prices vary" (I would imagine more expensive on weekends/holidays), but that day the Carrera was $350. Not too bad, really. They weren't stripped down Carreras, either. Had a few decent options.

I rented one on my last trip to San Diego. They initially quoted me $450, after 5 minutes of haggling I took the keys for $225/day. They limit you to 100 miles though. Decently optioned, not total stripped down cars. Mine had just 28 miles when I picked it up.
When I checked it in they seemed a little irritated that I put 300 miles on the car. I told them I paid $225 for 100 miles or $2.25/mile for the first 100 and they only charge .50/mile thereafter. A relative bargain.

I am a longtime Hertz Five star gold member who rents probably 75 days a year with them. When he originally quoted the $450 I told him to pull up my profile and see if they could do better. He then immediately went to $325, I told him $200. He said there was no way, to which I responded $200 is better than zero and you have a proven loyal customer. He said no again so I started to walk away and he yelled out $225. I took it...
The only caveat that was VERY irritating is that I had a 6 am flight so when I came to return it the next morning they had to find the "manager" to inspect the car to insure I didn't damage it. That took 30+ minutes and I nearly missed my flight. Not a lot of fun to be sprinting through the airport at 5:30 am!
