For anyone tempted to switch to PSE- it can be installed without the console on/off button and thus be always on. If you want to control the sound, check to see if the parts you purchase include the button, and the labor charge includes installation. I believe the Suncoast kit includes it. The Porsche muffler kit from a dealer may or may not. I don't know the details of the install, but it does involve having it on automatically when in Sport mode as well as whenever desired. I think it uses the same vacuum line as the sound symposer to regulate the baffles.

I had mine installed after a year of ownership. For me, getting a new toy is fun and it elevated the toy dimension of the car considerably. And after several months, every time I push the button I am more glad I did.

I have confirmed that PSE (parts) is about $3k. If I were to choose to install the PSE now, Porsche will pay for the labor. Dealer said that labor for installing a complete PSE costs about $800 as opposed to about $200 for installing only the recalled parts.

Anyone in Canada had asked Porsche to pay for the labor for PSE upgrade instead of the exhaust recall? I called my dealership and they said they didn't even start booking for exhaust recall as the new parts have yet to be approved in Canada ???

I just had my exhaust replaced per recall. Thinking of the Gundo hack next.

my car was involved in the exhaust recall. I decided to order PSE instead. Porsche agreed to pay for the PSE install in return. Total cost for PSE was about $2,800 (I got PCA discount on the part).
