Not the best pictures but you get the idea. My birthday present to myself and the car now has just over 500 miles. It has most of the options except for the power upgrade and some cosmetic bells and whistles. The interior is the black/platinum two tone. I test drove one first and then went by gut feel in putting the car together. I didn't discover this forum until after the car was locked. Actually its just as well I didn't, as there are so many great opinions on this site, I might have gone crazy trying to decide. In retrospect, I wouldn't change a single thing on my car.
I plan on heading out to the track this summer to learn how to drive it properly, although I doubt my driving skills and eye/hand coordination will ever bring me close to what this car can do. Even in break in mode, it's pretty awesome!
I got the glass sun roof which is vitually invisible on this car. I like to keep the shade back and that lets in more light. Gives the inside a little more spacious feeling. I rarely drive with the sun roof open here in Colorado. The sun is too intense in the summer. But maybe this spring and fall?
I also decided against the winter wheel/tire option. I have an older 4runner which is my winter beater. In our climate, about 1/3 of our winter weeks offer warm enough temperatures and dry roads , and the summer tires are just fine in those conditions for normal driving. When we do get snow here, it is often a bunch (like this weekend) which leaves lots of ridges and pot holes and that makes me nervous driving such low car. I suppose if this was my only car, I might do it differently. Probably get the 4S in that case.
Thanks everyone for a lot of great posts! I've learned a lot.
