Not sure about this because PSE on sounds way louder/raw at high rpm than PSE off!

It was either that or close the track. The County and a group of neighbors (at least a mile away!) are the problem. The stupid thing is - the track is next to the runway at Luke AFB. Ever hear an F-16 take off with full afterburners? Makes my car seem quiet! Now they are getting the F-35, which I hear is much louder. Some karma for the neighbors.

You will always find the controlling freaks which impose for the sake of some higher good.....or at least according to them.

Order is imperative, but we have gone overboard with overwhelming rules and regulations which only prompt more of them. What ever happened to personal responsabilty.

My 996 has a muffler bypass and it is great to hear that revving engine.....take that away and a great part of the emotion involved with motor racing shall fade.

How did it the side mufflers work for You? im thinking of doing the same, or maybe I will get the fabspeeed headers, want to leave PSE intact as well, but want enhance of sound.
There is another option for replacing side mufflers from DESIGN TEK Secondary Muffler BYPASS, dont know what to do yet.

how was your experience?

As you pass the decimeter, drop the throttle back or short shift. I know, not as fun, especially when you are chasing someone down, but better than no track day.

We have same restrictions here at our track near Vancouver.

Agreed, I just added pse to my 991 and it is louder on than off - especially at the higher rpms....

Must be Sound Symposer that you are hearing.
PSE is on at high RPM, regardles of mode.
Even the DB meter test proved it.

Yes it does.
It's similar to PSE in that somewhere between 3-4K it opens the valves automatically.
The valves then stay open a while until the car goes back to a cruising state at low RPM.

What PSE gives you different (via the PSE Switch and S modes) is that the valves open at low RPM, instead of waiting until they open automatically from high RPM.

That lets you get all the pops and gurgles while tooling around town, which seems to be what people like about PSE.

Even if you close the valves on PSE (using the switch or by driving in normal mode) it only affects low RPM driving, as the valves still open at high RPM.
