Btw, if you can afford +$11K for the same set of options, go for c4S. There'll be no regrets.

I have had 2 GT3s and now this 997.2 C2S. but I have always had a BMW X5 for winter work.
Still do, but now I have a Mazda Cx-5 AWD and I dont need the X5 any more (anyone want a MONSTER
SUV for a great deal? Email me at paulgt3@gmail.com) so I am trading the two in for a new 991
I think. Because the Mazda is not the Burly SAV I have had before, I am thinking C4S for this one.
Plus I have always missed the hips of the Turbo C4S since my 993. Living where you live, and having
the chance of getting stuck in a storm C4S sounds better to me. We go to the mountains alot here in Eastern California and I have been snowed on there (mammoth Lakes) every month of the year including August, so I think the C4S is what I should be looking at.
BUT at these prices I should be looking at a 12 cylinder Ferrari!!!

Live in Ontario.
Lots of snow and ice in these parts.
Drove rear wheel drive for 9 years.
Will continue to drive rear wheel drive for many more.
Just add 4 winter tires and Bob is your uncle..unless he already is !

Spot on. Those of us who live in the snowzone (Northern Britain) in my case, love the rwd/snow tyre combination. 4wd is for southerners afraid of the rain!!

Good on you Nicoli. Slap some snows on her and dirve it!. I don't know why more of us simply don't do that. It is always the guy who buys the car from the "never winter driven" line in the the advert to sell the car after 5 years. I really have to work on driving mine all year round....which ties into the OP's original question - and being a fellow Canadian would suggest buy a C4S and some snows and enjoy the blasted car 365 days a year- which is advice I might take myself next car out Hmmm.

I understand concept of awd traction and the appeal of the slightly wider body and light strip, but there really isn't any need for these enhancements. The rear engine layout with all of that weight over the drive axle works fine and why risk upsetting the purity of steering (even with EPS) with any torque steer?
A good set of snows is all anyone needs...

I'm just grateful for the opportunity to learn about these cars together. I appreciate the C4's, but I don't need one for rain and snow, this car is going to be just fine all year and in any weather
