Default PSE in Normal vs PSE in Sport Plus

I spent the afternoon making the most of the great weather and surrounding windy roads to put some miles on the car. What I found interesting was the difference in exhaust note from the PSE in normal driving mode vs Sport Plus mode.

With PSE on during normal mode, the note is a deeper burble and throatier acceleration. With Sport Plus engaged, the exhaust note is throaty and raspy.

The only way I can describe it is that in normal mode with PSE on, the car sounds like a sports car and in Sport Plus mode, the car sounds like a race car...a noticeably more menacing exhaust note.

Has anyone else noticed this on their cars?

My roof was open and windows down and the sound outside of the car was different in both modes.

Hmmm .. I may have seen this addressed elsewhere, but it is known that in sport+ the engine runs a LOT richer, not just that but it has also been designed so in sport+ the ignition timing is changed on the over run and at the shifts causing more unburned gases which in turn are then ignited creating that crackle and pop...

Porsche actually engineered the sound right into the engine and ecu, not just the PSE.

Lol it seems like everything on this forum is copy pasted to or from 6speed. Why can't all 991 discussions be in one place!? Haha
But I do agree with duxsi!
