Default 3.4 Engine RPM @ 70mph

To those who drive the 991 Base w/ 3.4.. assuming no mods , what is the engine RPM @ 70 mph cruise in 7th gear with the PDK? I read elsewhere between 1900-2100 for the 3.8 S but I am trying to get this number for the 3.4. Thanks.

I'll ask my wife to check on her way home.
Haven't see my baby in 3 days (the car that is)!!!

Will claw the keys out of her cold dead hands tonight.

Oops - 3.8 not 3.4. Sorry...

Pretty sure gearing is the same on both...so your sports car goals are low rpm cruising and a quiet cabin?

I saw that dig coming from someone a mile away. The latter, as much as possible when I am not driving "spiritedly" in traffic, the question merely to use as a data point in my determination. So, feel free to take the lexus pot shot also. I am still buying a 991.

OP-that is very interesting. I think the modern Porsche can be many things to many people. Besides, not everyone is always driving spiritedly. I conducted two interesting experiments with my 997 and my friend's M3. One was to see how fast we could go (non-public road), and the other was to see who could get the most mpg. It is amazing what this car can do on both ends of the spectrum. Cheers.

In 7th (PDK or manual) at 70 mph either 991 model is more relaxed than most sedans and reasonably quiet. Tire noise is the difference- it IS a spots car.
80 is only 2100 or 2200 rpm and you will have to watch the speedo to stay below it. The 991 is a true dual use machine with little compromise in its Jeykll or Hyde modes.

PDK and manual ratios are not identical. Gearing is the same with either 3.4 or 3.8, variance comes in transmission choice.

The P-car def offers the best combo. One never buys the current M3 for mpg But the S65 V8 has won Engine of the Year Award in 3 - 4L category every years since 2008; a great design.

But the new 991 beats the M3 hands down for balancing both performance w/ efficiency - and still NA.
