silver is a better exterior color for red interior, check out a youtube video called "Patrick Long porsche 911 at Datona Beach". It's such a classic combo, you will love it.
Btw, you need to have the sportdesign steering wheel option, the peddles will make PDK fly.

Go for it! if you are going to keep the car for 7-8 years, get what you want.
I have the Aqua Blue and love it. I didn't go as wild with the red interior, I got beige.
I also agree somewhat wth your Cayman vs. 911 comments. I had a Cayman S prior to getting a 2009 911S. I always wanted a 911 so I thought I had to have it. Once I did, I missed the direct feel of the Cayman, and I was not really faster at events.
The 991 is better, the steering and balance is more Cayman like, with great power and the other 911 benefits. Enjoy yours!

bought my first porsche when i turned 40 a few months ago.
just cant get enough of it.
it simply handles like it is on rails. bloody amazing.
the only regret is I didn't own one earlier but then again better late than never.

similar situation -i'm 34 and just ordered my first 991. couldn't decide between aqua blue or white, went with aqua blue in the end. on a budget so base, pdk, premium package, 20" cc rims, cooled seats, sd steering wheel, red seat belts. never got to see the blue in person on a 991, but did see it on a boxster and loved it. i'm coming from a white s4 so i thought i'd try something different. very unique color which you don't see often. i chose a black interior though, not red. i think aqua blue will age well, the former cobalt blue still looks nice.

i did see a cobalt blue 997 that was in for service at my dealer. it is similar but would probably look very different if they were side by side.

Personally, I think that blue and red combination will look fantastic. Check out this Spyder with the same colors.

Aqua Blue with Red Interior
I am thinking of Aqua Blue with Red Interior and Yellow Instrument Dials. Have a deposit in for 2014 turbo. For years I wanted a Tour de France Blue Ferrari with brown interior yellow brake calipers and yellow dials. Eventually came to conclusion that Ferraris were for people without children with 7 figure incomes that don't mind spending 5000 for blown plastic hoses after three months.
was debating between Agate Grey with Red Interior Yellow Instrument Dials and Yellow Seat Belts. however, felt like it looked too much like McDonalds or Chinese national flag. Then was thinking of Agate Grey with Red Interior Carbon Trim and Black Dials. But that seemed too much like my dad's cars.
with Superman "Aqua Blue" and red interior. I can get my yellow speed dials and yellow brake calipers too and have a unique looking car!

They started turbo pre-orders??
My order got advanced, I guess I'll be collecting the car end of this month!!
I have 90% extreme excitement feelings, but now I also start to get some 10% financial guilt (...), heck, I think the moment I see it the 90% will become 250%

Turbo
No. Just on waiting list. Pre orders should start around September. Excited to see how you like your car when you get it.
