I test drove a 991 with sunroof and once I opened and closed the sunroof it rattled on bumpy roads for the remainder of the test drive. I was told at the dealership that the service department would adjust the sunroof after 100 miles and take the rattles away.

Anyone else encountered rattles with the new sunroof?

Mine rattles when open. Also has a bit of a sweak opening very occasionally. Need to take it in.

Yeah. Me too. I took it in. No rattles for about a week the started to rattle again. They said that they needed it overnight to fix it.

If I'm able to buy or lease a 991 I may skip the sunroof; as much as I love the open sky, I'm really **** about rattles.

Mine rattles when open too but not so bad that I can't wait until the first service to adjust.

That said, the sunroof is great. They will certainly fix it. As one of my clients (a car dealer) once said "The only thing that can't be fixed is a dead man."

Which sunroof are we talking about? The glass one, or metal?

I have a 2013 with a glass sunroof. The car developed a rattle after a few hundred miles, the rattle occurred wether opened or closed. There is a campaign for this(wc45 i think) that addresses this. They lubricated and adjusted something in the track and now it's quiet. With it fully open over a hard bump I noticed a sound once since the fix, but that was it.

Mine only rattled when open. Then it started squeaking when sliding open or close. At the 10k service it was taken care of. Not a sound now.

mine rattles like crazy when open. Its been to dealer three time for it and they keep saying they cant find anything wrong. This was after the did find and fix a driver side Bpillar rattle and a passenger side visor bracket rattle. I know there is a campaign for some cars for this, and they have ordered the clips involved in the sunroof panel headliner

I recall an earlier thread that discussed rattles in the 991 - I know this thread is discussing the sunroof specific rattle, but it appears rattles are coming from b pillars, visors, etc. Was this an issue with the 997? The 991 is at the top of my list for purchase next month and I love it's performance but rattles would be a big issue...

my car has had identifieable rattles in each area Cdadaw. the last is the clearly separate and easily localized rattle when the roof is open directly from the panel when going over rough spot or expansion cracks. Unnerving in a car that cost as much as it does. My audi, let alone honda minivan are silent inside with no rattles or creaks to speak of despite the abuse they take as family cars and daily drivers. My 997 had no such issues

I have a metal sunroof and it does not rattle, nor are there any other rattles. Build date: 1/13/2012.
