I have an early build (Jan 2012) 991S and it far exceeds my expectations in terms of performace and usability. That said- it has been recalled for a number of factory "campaigns" to correct problems of first year models (none of which sidelined me, but some of which have been reported here as real problems). Porsche learns fast and makes running production improvements as fast as they can. If you can be sure to get a later build 2012 or 2013 car, you may be doing yourself a favor. Re the new Cayman: it will be the Boxter hardtop again, not a 991-but that may be enough- cause the new Boxter S is IMHO the real bargain in the Porsche lineup.
That is hilarious, you mean like they did with the RMS/IMS problems the past 13 years.
The dealer has agreed to a couple more concessions. They're going to give $1K more for trade-in and sell me a roofrack (needed for hauling bikes) at cost.
did you get it ?? how did you do off list if you dont mind me asking and lets see some pics withe the bikes on top

Extremely weird, but some posts from this thread have been lost and the first two on this page are from other unrelated thread.....
I did post up a one pic and the info about the car already but will do so again since it disappeared. I got about 7.5% off list, decent trade-in values, and the rack at cost. I got the rack Friday afternoon and have not got it going yet. Here's the car:
Duh....my rack came with no instructions and since it was the first one the dealer had sold, they didn't have much to add either other than to tell me they would call tech support today. Well, a little online forum searching told me that instructions for mounting the rack are in the Owner's Manual, pages 179-182. Will give it a try when I get home.
