That reminds me, I need to connect the usb cord to the plug near the fuse box and update the software.
Highly recommend Benchmark & Justin to anyone in the pacific northwest. Anyway, wheels going on this week! yay.

I just picked up my new 991 CS4 (came in two weeks early) and had the 9500ci installed at Car Toys in Dallas (Hurst). Juan Castillo did the install and I trust him - he has done other cars for me and always top quality. I researched pictures from this site on the various locations for the head units and decided on the following:
Message unit: I wanted to minimize eye movement while driving so decided to place it above the review mirror. I wanted it flush as possible to ensure that it looked like it came from the factory.
Button unit: I wanted to place it in a location that would be easy to press and my hand would not have to search - it is located by the right knee in the panel behind the steering wheel (see picture).
Alert light: This single bulb alert light is placed in the top of the air vent on the left hand side of the dash. It is hidden and the light is barely visible by non drivers.
On/Off switch: Since the power button is on top of the button unit and I wanted that unit to be flush that made the button not accessible. So Juan placed a power button near the fuse box beside my left knee. Within easy reach in case I need to shut it off quickly.
My main request to Juan was to keep things looking like it came directly from the factory as I did not want the units just glued on top of obvious locations. As you will see from the pictures Juan did a great job and I am pleased.

Love the column mount, Nicoli, is the screen the same size as the original escort screen? Is this a custom made from your install shop or was this ordered? Driving up to you would be a road trip to have it installed, looking for a good installer down in my area.

mine was a custom job but I thought I saw someone selling a similar mass produced mount also a while back. This was my second professional 9500ci install in a Porsche, and I very much prefer the center column placement over the rear view mirror display I had in a 997.
It's just the regular Escort display with a frame molding (or whatever that would be called, I'm not sure) .
I still really like the 9500ci and it truly saves me every so often - well worth it imo. I too dislike driving a distance to get something installed (what if I need adjustment after, etc..ugh) but this shop knows how to do 9500s.

Nicoli convinced me on benchmark in Seattle. Very upscale, very creative and very expensive. I felt like my car was a Ford as it sat in the bays with all very high end Ferrari's and lambo's. Mine is almost same as Nicoli's except had a red light next to speedo in addition to alarms. I choose not to get the escort live, waste of $ I think in rural areas.

Your install is really great TS. Love your smokers package cubby with the buttons inside. They really did nice work! I feel like a Ford too when I'm there - oh well hehe.

I have the Escort Redline because I live in Canada and they are illegal here.
Mine is a windshield mounted versions to make it easy to stash if I get pulled over, I have had some interesting stories with mine.
Great investment and has saved me numerous times in the Toronto area.

I have used V1's for about 20 years - love the arrows!
In the past 1-2 years, however, it is becoming very frustrating with all the blind spot warning systems out there - I HATE AUDIS! Would consider trying a Passport for that reason alone.
