the best ride quality.?
Good Day everyone..
Got lost in the configurator as i keept playing with it day and night...
i need help to make my 991 carrera as comfortable as it can be, as this will be my daily driver for 150 miles a day ( 95% highway driving)
so here are few points that need you input..
1/ i like the looks of 20" wheel but are they really stiff and harsh vs 19's..
2/ pasm vs non pasm
3/sport plus seats vs regular seats..
i've decided to go with anthratic brown ,, but cant decide which interior to select,, any suggestions?
the order will lock up in 8 days, appreciate your prompt help.
thanks everyone...

1. 20" wheels are very comfortable.
2. Pasm of course.
3. Regular seats are fine though sport plus will be even better but their backs are a different color and plastic.
Can't go wrong with all black interior. Porsche does those best as they sell them the most.

I agree- 20" wheels are plenty comfortable. I have my psi set on comfort setting (29f, 36r I think) and couldn't ask for anything more comfortable. Definite on the pasm.
Seat comfort is highly subjective (like what size shoes should I get) and you really need to sit in both to decide. I'm not a big guy but find the sport sets push my shoulders in too far. The standard or 14 way seats fit me like a glove and I could drive in them forever. I am in love with the seat ventilation- first time I've had it and every car from now on will have it. I also like the black interior but not sure on the brown exterior. Good luck- you're going to love this car!

Strictly comfort speaking.....
19"s will be better than 20"s, but 20"s are not bad at all.
PASM in normal will give you a more comfortable ride compared to standard suspension.
I always get sport seats as I love the "locked-in" feeling they give, but they are not as accommodating as the regular seats, but just as comfortable IMO.
For Anthracite Brown I would go with Luxor Beige, Umber or Espresso. Black would work, but the tan/brownish tones would look much better IMO.
Good luck with it!

You need to read Nicoli35's post in this forum and see his pictures. He got expresso brown interior and it looks amazing. The whole car looks incredible!

Bravo for driving the car as much as possible. Comfort is a bit subjective. If you're coming from a Lexus, it may be more uncomfortable than if you went from a Lotus. My 997 came with 19s and I went to 18s. The ride quality was slightly better. The tires also make a big difference. Test drive the different configurations suggested by others as much as possible, and take your time. I would be very comfortable in a daily 150 mile drive in my 997, and a 991 should be even better. Cheers.

The 991 is a very comfortable car, much more so than the 997. I had 19" on my 997 and 20" on my 991. I got the 14 way seats, comfortable as a glove. Porsche has best ventilated seats, much better than Mercedes or Lexus.

I have 10K miles since end March on my 991S and have done 5 trips to/fro Canada from NYC. I have SPASM, PDCC, 20 in. wheels and 18 way seats. I have never arrived tired after the 6-8 hr drive. The only pain are the roads into and out of NYC. After that: bliss.
The 20 in. wheels are great IMHO. I'm a relatively fit but small 5'8 - the seats hug me perfectly and they're very comfortable for the long rides.
Kick the car into S or S+ mode then you're into whole new territory where you'll appreciate these even more...

i have the 20" wheels and really nothing else and honestly the ride is very smooth. my 991 cab was hit 6 days after i bought it and i have been driving a 2010 997 cab as a loaner (it was the other guys fault). i had the 991 for just a few days and going back to the 997 i began wondering was the new car really that superior? well all i can tell is just from the ground up if no other option was added, the 991 is an incredibly wonderful ride. there's absolutely no comparison. night and day. the pasm may be worthwhile but even w/o it you will not be disappointed. i hope this isn't sacrilegious but the 991 rides like a panamera compared to the old 997. it's now truly a luxury sports car.
