Sorry, I don't mean to misinterpret your comment: are you saying the biggest performance feature of PDK (that is now in the MT) is rev matching? If so, IMO, the biggest performance gains of PDK are in the speed of the shifts and the fact that you don't have to lift the throttle when you shift. Neither of these advantages will be equaled by the MT now being able to blip the throttle on downshifts. And of course, if you want, you have control of your shift points with PDK too.....
On track my opinion is that more performance is gained based on revmatched downshifts rather than the microsecond gained on WOT acceleration from PDK.

Some quick internet research reveals "double de-clutching" or double clutching is something only done by truck drivers with non-syncromesh transmissions, so I think it's just Porsche's fancy term for rev matching. Makes the sport chrono pkg more of a "must have" now with the manual then the PDK!

I'm kinda glad i've got an early 991 with Sports Chrono and no rev-matching. The whole reason why I bought a manual over a PDK was because I wanted to have a great *manual* experience. I've got nothing against PDK - I think it's a great tranny and will buy a 911 with one in the near future. I can appreciate that the auto rev-matching is faster, but for me, going into turn 8 at Mosport downshifting to 4th then downshifting to 3rd into 9 while perfectly matching revs (via heel-toe) is just way to satisfying when you get it right.
This might be one software upgrade to skip....

I'm pretty sure the Porsche system will have the On/Off switch as well.

I see that the new matching the revs on downshifts system on the 991 has been compared to the one the new Nissan 370Z has,so I went ahead and did a little research and found out that the 370Z system can be activated and deactivated via a switch.

My son and I drove a 370Z with this rev matching feature a year ago and we both really liked it. We both had manual transmissions then. I thought it was a good way to reduce wear on the clutch.

This new option is for Manual stick shifts, PDK all ready does this.
Instead of having to heel and toe or manually blip the throttle. The computer will keep the rpm up and then rev match the downshift allowing you to brake and shift at the same time. So you no longer have to do it your self. It is only available if you ordered the sport chrono option and have the sport chrono switch set to sport plus. There is no difference in sport chrono sport mode vs sport plus, other then this new driving assist.
I wonder though if it works if you skip a gear while down shifting.
