Changed oil at 2K
A good friend is a drag racer and mechanic...he has...a lift and every freaking automotive tool ever created.
We played with the 991 this afternoon!
Rather simple procedure with one minor glitch. The glitch occurred when the hood release cable became unhooked from the latch. With the aid of a mirror and shop light I was able to reattach.
I was surprised how long it took to drain the sump. We let it drain for over an hour until the slow stream diminished to an infrequent drip.
Filled with 2 gallons of Mobil 1 0-40. It took a while to get a read on the oil monitor and it eventually showed a little low but "OK"
Although the dealer told me that there was no need to replace the O-Ring - he said that Porsche revised its recommendation to 'go green,' considering its cost and what i perceived the consequence for failure of a used O-Ring, I replaced it.
Checked the oil and the filter for any particles and saw none.
All and all a pleasant afternoon spent playing in a garage instead of practicing law. Then again, at times there are a lot of things that are more pleasant than practicing law...
